Hello friends!
I hope you are all having a great summer time!
I am having a great summer time too, however I felt the need for some summer-blogging and so here I am, writing another article! :)
I will start this article with a simple question:
How many times we all search the Web for a piece of code or script doing a specific thing?
The answer is simple of course:
Many! :-)
You see, it's not necessary every time we need to write some code that does a common thing to re-invent the wheel. Community is here and ready to exchange knowledge with each and every one of us. After all, that is the purpose of technical communities around the globe: exchanging knowledge!
Community gives a broader meaning to the phrase "code reuse". You can have code reuse with code/scripts you wrote in the past and you stored it in your library, but you can also have code reuse when you just use code/scripts written by fellow community members and were made publicly available on blogs, forums and any other online/offline media. Community is a huge library where you seek and find code/script fragments, mainly for common tasks, you evaluate/modify the code and you use it!
Last but not least it is always useful to have in mind the following principle: Complex code operations consist of many small and simple code fragments! :)
So, based on the above idea, today I'm adding a new series of posts! I named this series "T-SQL Tips".
As the title implies, the subsequent posts that fall under this series will be T-SQL scripts doing specific things. Not many words, just code! :)
I hope you enjoy it!
