Earlier this month, on the 22nd, another Cyprus .NET User Group event took place. The event featured two hourly topics dedicated to the Microsoft Cloud and its services. The first topic was on Windows Azure for Developers and the second on Windows Azure SQL Database, formerly SQL Azure. The event was also live streamed and thus open to anyone interested to attend.
The second session was delivered by me
where we talked about Windows Azure SQL Database (formerly SQL Azure). During my
session we went through some of the main services provided by Windows Azure SQL
Database. Also, we compared different features of SQL Database with SQL Server
and performed many live demos showing how SQL Database can be used from SSMS
and Visual Studio having the role of a data hub. Last but not least we saw how SQL Database can be managed via
the Windows Azure Platform Management Portal.
